you'll find someone. really you will.
you'll find someone since you just have to. since it hurts to feel this sort of inside out. maybe this time you'll find someone who won't spill dandelion wishes down your throat forcing you to swallow all these words like lies and beliefs like truths and every in between that makes you want to come undone. and maybe this time, your someone won't spread through you replacing your veins with roots as he becomes an integral part of your survival. because eventually, this boy who's spread through you like a sickness will pull away from you ripping out your insides, ripping out your silly little hope, ripping out the useless organ that doesn't beat synchronized anyways. and you just need to realize that boys like that are more common than the fields of weeds that decorate the sides of these country highways. i promise you deserve something more. you deserve something different. i promise. i promise.
maybe you'll meet him in an art museum or at a carnival. maybe his name will be matt and he'll be wearing an elliott smith t-shirt. maybe he'll paint abstract art or play acoustic guitar. maybe both. but you'll meet him. he won't be pessimistic-- he'll be positively charged. his eyes will be filled with more than colours and tints. you'll tell him things you shouldn’t tell anyone. you will feel okay about it though. you will feel okay. you will feel. you will.
maybe he'll be all those things you dreamed of. or maybe he'll be none of them. since maybe all this time you've been searching in the wrong places and making patterns out of nothing at all. so last time, you thought you found someone who could make you fly not realizing the higher you get the harder it is to breathe. and all this suffocating is doing nothing at all. you need another chance to feel alive since you've been stuck in these unchanging days that feel a lot like dying. but you'll find someone who will lend you his breath and you will inhale. exhale. just breathe. just please.
he'll sit next to you and you'll feel him in the tips of your fingers and the tip of your tongue. you'll feel him in your almost-there places, but he will be there completely in every way. you'll call him and he'll pick up first ring. maybe he's broken right now and maybe you'll fix him. and maybe by fixing him, it will fix you. and i know for a fact that he will be passionate. whether it's about music, or photography or even just about the way the leaves blow in the wind. he will be passionate about something. he will be passionate about you.
and this boy that you'll find will be so completely different than the rest. he won't call you clichéd cute names. since all those "honeys" and "sugars" never make anything sweeter. so stop looking for love in packets of artificial sweeteners. and start searching for something that tastes a little more real. that feels a little more real. that is real. and he'll understand all the words you're saying when you're not saying anything at all. since perfection doesn't have to only exist in your dreams. and even when you're awake, he'll run his fingertips over your awkward angles and slight curves and call you beautiful. and for once you will believe it. you will believe him. you will believe.
there won't be nights spent eating cartons of ice cream alone in the kitchen because he cheated on you. or because he lied to you. or because he left you for no reason at all. there will no longer be nights where you lie in bed with it's-all-my-fault-that-he-left-i'm-so-so-stupid's. there might be nights where you're eating cartons of ice cream because he's out working for the night, because you miss him. there will be nights spent eating cartons of ice cream, but you won't be alone. you will be with him. you will be with him.

somtimes i find myself thinking that 'it'd be fun to go and stand out in the rain' so i do. but once i'm out there i find myself thinking, 'wouldn't it be invigorating to take off my clothes' so i do. but once i've done that, i find myself thinking 'wouldn't it be beautiful to climb on the rooftop', so i do. and then once i'm standing there, i find myself thinking, 'wouldn't it be magical to fall in love' and so i try. i try and try and try but i can't. and so there i am, standing naked on my rooftop in the rain trying to fall in love.
