the past is just practice. we spent last summer blowing kisses that never made it to their destinations. and now i don’t know what to say to you to make all those wasted words seem right. it’s like we were waiting for our first kiss but neither of us had the guts to make the first move so instead we lay side by side not touching, not moving, breathing on opposite intervals. i’d say your name but you weren’t listening. you’d whisper i love you but you didn’t mean it. it was summer and you should have tried smiling with your eyes.

it’s like you don’t even know you anymore. and when people talk about you, it’s almost as if you have no idea who they’re speaking about or whether any of what they say is true. it’s to the point where you started avoiding mirrors or catching your own eye in the reflection of windows, because you don’t even recognize yourself anymore. maybe your hair’s a mess and your clothes don’t match, but at least you can keep pretending that you’re not uncomfortable in your own skin. you’ve become a stranger and it scares you since you’ve always been most afraid of the things you don

i was never able to tell you, but i hate the way you cook your 'specialty' eggs. you always laughed over your shoulder and told me that they are the best food i’ll ever eat, that i was blessed to get the chance to taste them melt
we're just cracks in the road Sometimes, your skin gleams silver and sometimes, I'm four years old again scribbling my name across your chest in sidewalk chalk. Since sometimes, I pretend that you're made from concrete since then we seem a little more permanent and I don't have to worry about my painted heart washing away from your surface. But sometimes, I'm blind. Since these days, I'm stuck tracing the veins that dart through your arms which remind me that you're temporary. And then they remind me of cracks in the cement and other things we can't fix. And then I remember maybe, I can't even fix you.

Sometimes I plaster makeup on my face trying to hide that childlike m
broken hearts don't beat sometimes, it's morning. and i've forgotten to brush my hair again. or how to tie my shoes or what my name sounds like. and that i don't believe in anything anymore. and that's when i realize that i'm losing little pieces of myself to you.

and the tip of my tongue is stained with the taste of stale paint from the renovating you've done with my mind. and for the next four hundred and seventy three and a half hours i'll be staring at the ceiling. since i'm waiting for your flavor to fade. or maybe i'm just waiting for you to come back to me. since my fingertips are losing their feeling. and the strands of my hairs are splitting. i'm aging in r

you'll find someone. really you will.

you'll find someone since you just have to. since it hurts to feel this sort of inside out. maybe this time you'll find someone who won't spill dandelion wishes down your throat forcing you to swallow all these words like lies and beliefs like truths and every in between that makes you want to come undone. and maybe this time, your someone won't spread through you replacing your veins with roots as he becomes an integral part of your survival. because eventually, this boy who's spread through you like a sickness will pull away from you ripping out your insides, ripping out your silly littl

something i did for fun. because i miss typography. and i thought i could momentarily combine some of my loves.
it's probably not readable like it should be though. i'll probably work on that someday. also, i won't pretend that i'm much good at this sooooo be gentle maybe. yes?
and i'll probably scrap this.

but it says:

we're sleeping.
we're sleeping with our eyes open.
we're sleeping away the season since this winter it's just getting colder there's a chill that's setting in our bones and we're waiting for summer to thaw us out. we're waiting and some days, it feels like we'll wait forever. we're waiting and my hand is getting colder without yours in it. we're waiting and it's taking too long and we just keep getting colder, but i promise, our hearts are getting warm.
